DORNER PRODUCTS MEET CHANGING APPLICATION NEEDS

Do you have an older conveyor that needs to be used for a new application? When Buhrke Industries needed a new conveyor, they decided to turn to an old one. Buhrke Industries, specializes in precision metal stamping and assembly and has been using Dorner products for years. To meet growing customer needs, Buhrke has recently taken a 2100 Series conveyor that was once used to transport metal stampings and converted it into a lighted vision inspection conveyor. The vision inspection system was installed onto the conveyor by replacing the existing belt with a new translucent belt allowing light to shine through, and parts to be examined more carefully.

This new belt and system was used to visually inspect metal discs that have 13 precisely patterned holes and are used for the correct operation of air bags. With the visual inspection system, the holes in the discs can be inspected and the defaulting discs thrown away.

Buhrke demonstrated the perfect way to bring old conveyors to life for the demanding and constantly changing application needs of the metal stamping industry. Dorner conveyors are versatile and resourceful because they can be used for so many different types of applications.

DORNER AQUAPRUF CONVEYOR ENGINEERED TO FIT METAL DETECTION

When Sandridge Food Corporation went through expansion for their new potato salad packaging line, they needed an efficient conveyor line that was separate from the other product lines. The AquaPruf 7600 was the perfect design for the potato salad line, designed to meet FDA requirements and approved by USDA, the 7600 Series is ideal for the food processing industry.

The new system brought the potato salad directly from the mixer, onto a conveyor, and through a metal detection unit. This 7600 conveyor can accommodates for five different sizes of containers traveling through metal detection and was engineered to perfectly fit the specifications of the existing metal detection unit.

The conveyor has guiding to merge two lanes of the product into a single line to pass through metal detection. The 12-inch wide, 6-foot long 7600 Series conveyor operates for 18 hours per day, undergoing five daily full washdowns. It was important in this application that the conveyor could be built to specific specifications to fit the existing metal detection unit. The 7600 allowed the specifications to be met, while maintaining a sanitary operation.

For more information on how Dorner conveyors can be specially designed to fit your exact specifications and work with previously existing machinery, visit the Application Database. Sandridge is DAS216.
